About the app

Will it work on my phone/tablet?
Yes! SetGenius works on iPhone, Android, tablets, and desktop. Use your computer to build setlists, your tablet or phone to perform.

Does it work without an internet connection at the venue?
Not yet — SetGenius needs a connection to load and update your setlist. If a venue's WiFi or signal is unreliable, load your setlist before you lose connection rather than relying on it to work offline.

Can everyone follow along on their own device during a gig?
Yes — turn on Sync in perform mode and every device with the setlist open follows the same song live, so if one person moves to the next song, everyone else's screen follows automatically.

Can I share a setlist with someone outside the band?
Yes — you can generate a public, read-only link to a setlist. It shows the songs, venue and gig date, nothing more (no comments or approval step). Links expire automatically — 48 hours after the gig date if one's set, or 30 days after creation otherwise. Free accounts get one active link at a time; Pro and Band plans can have several running at once.

Can I import my existing setlists?
Not yet — songs are added through the app today. CSV import is coming soon, which will let you bring in a library from a spreadsheet.

About the AI

How does the AI work? Will it replace my creativity?
Never! The AI makes suggestions based on your gig type and audience, but YOU always have final say. Think of it as a smart assistant, not a replacement.

Where do the AI's setlist suggestions come from?
Only from your own library. When building or reordering a setlist, SetGenius never suggests a song your band hasn't added, so everything it proposes is something you can actually play. Growing your library itself is a separate feature — see below.

Can the AI suggest songs to add to my library?
Yes. From the song library, SetGenius can suggest real songs you don't have yet, based on your existing repertoire plus anything you tell it — "not too obvious" or "no synth songs", for example. This is separate from setlist building: it's about growing your repertoire, not filling a specific gig.

Is the AI always right?
No, and it isn't meant to be. It applies general principles about set structure to your specific library. It has never seen your crowd. Treat the output as a well-argued first draft, not the final word.
